Lahmacun

Lahmacun is also famous as Turkish Pizza. Lahmacun is the Turkish “pide” that is made of the dough on which mince, onion, tomato and spices are placed before being cooked. Lahmacun is a traditional food that is taken out of the oven directly and eaten hot. Today this product can be found in deep freezers of many supermarkets. Similar foods are also known in Arabian peninsula. Root of the word of “Lahmacun” comes from the Arabic word “lahm ala adschiin” which means “dough with meat”. Lahmacun is traditionally served with parsley, chopped onion and quarter lemon. Lemon juice is added on the lahmacun and it is eaten by hand after wrapping it with hot pepper and parsley. Normally lahmacun is wrapped with mixed salad and various sauces are spread on it up to choice. This variation is especially preferred in Germany and Europe.
